The Canada Del Oro Rapids

Taking a stroll on the "river park", which is at water level!

July 29, 2006. The Tucson metro area and southeastern Pinal County spent most of Saturday morning under a flash-flood warning issued by the National Weather Service, and remain under a flash-flood watch until 8 p.m.

Rain gauges in the Catalinas and the flood-warning area recorded 1 to 3 inches of rain in the morning hours, the weather service reported. Another inch or two of rain are possible in the warned area, the agency said.

Pima County Regional Flood Control District and the Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Department should see the Canada Del Oro River now. The goal of this river park is to provide recreational hiking, biking, and equestrian transit opportunities through a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment. Perhaps this river park can provide whitewater rafting as well.
